Education

  • Support the implementation of the per-pupil student funding formula to ensure English Language Learner (ELL) students receive adequate support and training.
  • Expand the investment in Nevada’s public education system to ensure that Nevada’s students are being prioritized and uplifted to meet federal standards in proficiency.
  • Fund programs that will expand access to higher education by supporting financial aid grants and investing in college-readiness programs for underserved communities.

Language Access

  • Support the implementation of SB 318 (2021) to ensure that all state government agencies have the resources to implement their language access plans and increase translational services. 
  • Protect the due process of Nevadans, regardless of their immigration status, and fund services that provide immigration consultation and legal services. 
  • Protect Latino small businesses from any criminalization efforts, and ensure that street food vendors are given the opportunity to be treated with fairness and dignity.

Housing

  • Within the last few years, Latino families in Nevada have been disproportionately affected by the rising housing costs throughout the state. As a broader coalition of Latino leaders, we will be aggressively targeting housing policies throughout this upcoming session to help provide relief for Latinos across the state.
